Bridge Disability Ministries

Helping people with disabilities live full and meaningful lives

Bridge Disability Ministries

Calvin and Bridge Ministries have partnered in serving those living with disabilities for nearly 20 years. Since its founding in 1987 by a Presbyterian minister, Bridge has maintained its core mission: Bridge Disability Ministries logo

Because Bridge Disability Ministries honors the God-given dignity and giftedness of people with disabilities, we build relationships to alleviate isolation and enrich our churches and community.

Medical Equipment Ministry – A Bridge to Physical Access
One way the congregation can support Bridge is to donate gently used durable medical equipment to Bridge.  Tub transfer benches, transport chairs and knee walkers are examples of equipment that Bridge constantly needs.  Of course, wheel chairs and walkers are also welcome.  If you have something to donate, please contact Dan Coppin at 206-542-6247.  Thank you!

Guardianship Ministry – A Bridge to Protection
For those who need a legal guardian to represent them in areas of finance, health care and shelter, Bridge serves that role for over 40 individuals, many of whom have little family support and few financial resources.

Spiritual Connections Ministry – A Bridge to Inclusion and Belonging
Bridge connects hundreds of persons with disabilities to area churches through monthly Sunday Evening Celebrations–a time of fellowship, food and fun. Calvin Church annually hosts a Sunday Evening Celebration in September.  (Sunday, September 17, 2017)  Church volunteers serve as table hosts, cooks, servers, entertainment and clean-up crew, connecting our congregants with people Bridge serves.
