Spiritual Formation

spiritual_form_header

Spiritual Formation, at its simplest, might be understood as “becoming like Christ.” However, this may be too simplistic.

Pastor Neil defines it this way:
Spiritual formation is the grace-driven,
inside-out,
renovation of one’s whole life,
after the pattern of Jesus,
with and for the sake of others
.

FORMATION40 is a 40 minute time on Sunday morning for all generations to focus on becoming more like Christ. This short period (10:10-10:50 am) fits conveniently between the two services, and adjacent to either one. Rotating topics and teachers focus on Bible study, spiritual formation, and engaging the world. Adults have one or more topics to choose from, while youth and children meet in small groups by age.

How can we help you along your spiritual journey?

At Calvin, we are committed to walking with anyone who wants to move deeper in their life of faith and their integration of The Way of Jesus. We offer various means–from small LIFE groups to weekend workshops and retreats–to help you deepen your understanding and expression of being a follower of Jesus every day.

Becoming like Jesus does not happen in a single moment or decision; it takes little commitments and daily choices. Doing this with others, in community, accelerates and aids the process. We encourage people to meet together regularly in small LIFE groups for study, prayer and fellowship. Connect with a LIFE Group!
